Fairgrounds Speedway Race Results

Late Models:
  • Mark Day rockets to the lead from the outside pole.
  • Caution, Lap 9- TW Fisher gets into the back of Simon Yates coming off of turn 4. Yates, Fisher, and Clay Greenfield all make contact with the outside wall. Fisher gets the worst end of the incident and has retired from the race. Greenfield has also gone to the garage. Yates suffered the least damage and has continued.
  • Lap 30- Running fourth, points leader Daniel Pope dives to pit road with overheating problems.
  • Day cruises to an easy victory.
Final Results:

2. Chevy White
3. Joseph Meyer
4. Tommy Joe Martins
5. Simon Yates


Supertrucks:
  • Daniel Bolden shoots to the lead from the pole.
  • Lap 26- Bobby Buttrey moves around Bolden for the lead.
  • Coming out of turn four on the last lap, Buttrey gets extremely loose allowing Bolden to make one last charge. Buttrey is able to hold on for the victory by only a couple of feet.
Final Results:

3. Stacey Crain
4. Terry Hayes
5. Kyle Fletcher


Sportsman:
  • Jeff Belt pulls to the early lead.
  • Caution, Lap 4- Sam McCord gets into Jimmy Victory spinning Victory into the inside wall. McCord is being sent to the rear of the field.
  • Belt takes an easy victory.
Final Results:
1. Jeff Belt
2. Lee Goddard
3. Eddie Taylor
4. Cody Buford
5. Howard Tucker

Limited Late Model:
  • Richard Hargrove pulls to an early lead.
  • Lap 18- Bobby Terry gets around Hargrove for the lead.
Final Results:

2. Richard Hargrove
3. Matt Murray
4. Bret Miles


Open Wheel:
  • David Brown takes the lead from the pole.
  • Caution, Lap 1- Roy Dorris cuts a right front tire after contact with John Earheart.
  • Caution, Lap 8- Tommy Climer spins John Earheart. Climer is being sent to the rear.
  • Caution, Lap 9- Earheart spins Climer in turn 2.
  • Lap 25- Coming to the checkered flag, Earheart gets alongside Brown and receives a push from Climer to complete the pass.
Final Results:
1. John Earheart
2. Tommy Climer
3. David Brown
4. Mark Stegall
5. Roy Dorris


Super Stocks:
  • Spurt Goddard takes the lead from the pole.
  • Lap 2- Clint Ivey takes the lead.
  • Lap 3- Robert Forsythe gets around Ivey for the top spot.
  • Forsythe captures his sixth victory of the season.
Final Results:
1. Robert Forsythe
2. Larry Cunningham
3. Spurt Goddard
4. Charlie Briley
5. Clint Ivey


Frontrunners:
  • Mark Cummings pulls to a lead at the start of the race.
  • Caution, Lap 1- Mark Collins and Stephen Collins crash on the frontstretch.
  • Lap 9- Paul Cummings passes his brother for the lead.
  • Paul Cummings pulls away for a convincing victory.
Final Results:
1. Paul Cummings
2. Joey Williams
3. John Williams
4. Chad Bush
5. Mark Cummings


Dawrfs:
  • Ricky McIllwain takes the lead from the 3rd starting position.
  • Caution, Lap 8- Michael Wood hits the outside wall, and careens into the inside wall just before the flag stand. The impact knocked the right front wheel off of the car. In an interview with Larry Weakley, Wood said that his steering wheel came off in his hands causing the carsh.
  • Lap 16- McIllwain blows his engine while leading, handing the laed to Greg Gresham.
  • Gresham goes unchallenged the rest of the race to take the victory.
