Fairgrounds Speedway Race Results

Sportsman:
  • Wayne White jumps to the lead from the pole.
  • Caution, Lap 4- Jeff Belt spins Lee Goddard in turn 4. Goddard is in the pits making repairs and Belt has been sent to the rear of the field.
  • Caution, Lap 6- Goddard puts Belt into the wall in turn 4. The race has been red-flagged due to a ruckus on pit road.
  • Lap 7- Cody Buford gets around White to take the lead.
  • Caution, Lap 10- Larry Deal spins by himself in turn 4. He doesn't hit anything and is able to continue.
  • Caution, Lap 16- Eddie Taylor blows an engine coming down the frontstretch.
  • Buford holds off all challenges to take the win.
Final Results:

4. Sam McCord
5. Jason Sullivan


Ken-Ten Pro Late Models:
  • Mark Day grabs the lead from the outside of the front row.
  • Caution, Lap 1- Tony Ussrey and Marty Taylor crash in turn 3. Ussrey is able to continue, but Taylor has gone to the garage.
  • Lap 9- Sammy Sanders makes a power move around the outside of Mark Day to take the lead.
  • Lap 30- Day gets inside of Sanders to take the lead.
  • Caution, Lap 38- Children were playing in the grassy area outside of turn 4. The caution had to be thrown to get them away to safety.
  • On the restart, Sanders was able to get back around Day for the lead.
  • Caution, Lap 48- Bobby Buttrey and Daniel Bolden make contact while racing down the backstretch. Buttrey spins and noses his car into the wall. Travis Trotter also spins trying to miss the incident. Trotter is able to continue, but Buttrey is done for the night.
  • On this restart. Day is able to use the outside line to move back into the lead.
  • Lap 68- Sanders moves back around Day to re-assume the lead.
  • Lap 74- Day has fallen back to the fifth position.
  • Caution, Lap 75- The caution flies for the lap 75 break.
  • Mark Day is unable to rejoin the rest of the field after the break. His crew has pushed the car behind the wall and to the welding truck.
  • On the restart, Davey Coble rockets to the lead from the outside front row.
  • Lap 84- Sanders gets around Coble to regain the lead.
  • Caution, Lap 94- Jimmy Victory and Mason Mingus crash racing for fourth. Stacey Crain also spins but is undamaged. Victory is also able to continue, but Mingus is done for the night.
  • Caution, Lap 108- Michael Driskell gets into Bennie Hamlett sending him spinning. Hamlett doesn't hit anything and is able to continue.
  • On the restart, Clay Alexander gets around Sanders.
  • Caution, Lap 122- Sanders makes contact with Alexander sending him spinning. Sanders is being sent to the rear for rough driving. Daniel Bolden inherits the lead.
  • Bolden hangs on to take the victory.

  • Brandon Summers takes an early lead.
  • Lap 6- Josh Berry grabs the lead.
  • Lap 22- Tyler Slayton lays the bumper to Berry and moves into the lead.
  • Lap 24- Berry repays the favor and moves back into the lead.
  • Berry is able to hold off a charge from Summers to take the win.

  • Cunningham holds on for the victory.

  • Vickers is able to hold off a late charge from Rippey to take the win.

  • Mark Cummings takes the lead in a 4 wide battle into turn 1.

  • Tobitt takes the win. Coming to the checkerd flag, Adam Felts and Chad Bush crash hard coming out of turn 4.

  • Ricky McIllwain grabs the lead from the pole.
  • Lap 7- McIllwain's car is bellowing smoke. He has been black flagged. Rick Webster inherets the lead.
  • Caution, Lap 12- Derek Ransom spins in turn 2.
  • Lap 13- Greg Gresham gets around Webster for the lead.
  • Gresham holds on for an easy victory.

Fairgrounds Speedway Pre-Qualifying Notes

It's a beautiful day for racing at the Fairgrounds Speedway. Several local drivers, including Bobby Buttrey, Daniel Bolden, and Mark Day, are entered in tonight's Ken-Ten 125 lap feature. The action is sure to be intense!

Fairgrounds Speedway Supertruck competitor Stacey Crain is entered in tonight's Ken-Ten 125.



Former Fairgrounds Speedway regular Bennie Hamlett is also entered in tonight's feature race.





Chase Oliver hits the wall hard in turn 2. His car briefly catches fire, but Oliver is able to emerge unhurt. It is unknown if his team will be able to prepare a backup car for tonight's race.







Cars from the American Chevelle Enthusiast Society are on display in front of the crowd.
