Fairgrounds Speedway Race Results

Late Model:
  • Caution, Lap 1- Officials didn't like the start, so the cars will be lined up to try again.
  • Travis Trotter gets the jump from the outside pole and leads.
  • Lap 3- Mark Day passes Trotter on the outside through turns 3 and 4 to take the lead.
  • Day went on to win after being hounded by Trotter for the entire race.

Sportsman:
  • Jeff Belt gets the jump from the outside pole and leads.
  • Points leader Lee Goddard slows on the backstretch with a problem.
  • Goddard returns to the action two laps off the pace.
  • Caution, Lap 27- Second place Jimmy Victory blows a right front tire and crashes hard inbetween turns 3 and 4.
  • Caution, Lap 28- Cody Buford gets loose coming off of turn 4 and backs into the inside wall.
  • Despite getting loose off turn 4 on the final lap, Jeff Belt collects the victory.

Open Wheel:
  • On the start, Roy Dorris and David Brown spin going into turn 1. The race will be completely restarted.
  • Tommy Climer gets the jump and pulls out to a lead.
  • Climer holds off a spirited charge from Dorris to capture the victory.

Super Stocks:
  • Kyle Ivey starts on the pole, but is passed by Robert Forsythe before the end of the first lap.
  • Caution, Lap 1-Spurt Goddard and George Saldana crash in turn 3.
  • Caution, Lap 1- The cars were lined up out of order and the restart was waived off.
  • Caution, Lap 7- Goddard and Jay Pryor crash in turn 4.
  • Caution, Lap 20- Billy Ladd loses an engine and spins in turn 3.
  • Caution, Lap 29- Saldana spins by himself in turn 2.
  • Forsythe goes on to win uncontested.

Thunderstox:
*Mitchell Vickers was disqualified after his car was too light in post race inspection.
  • Caution, Lap 1- Charles Goddard spins coming off turn 2. The race will be completely restarted.
  • Goddard gets a much better start and leads.
  • Lap 3- Mitchell Vickers gets around Goddard for the lead.
  • Caution, Lap 13- Taylor Ryman spins coming off turn 4. He doesn't make any contact and is able to continue.
  • Vickers is able to hold off a strong charge from Bobby Joe Rippey to take the win.

Front Runners:
  • Chad Bush gets the jump on the start.
  • Bush goes uncontested for victory.

Dwarf Cars:
  • Don Walls gets the jump on the start.
  • Coming off turn 4 on lap 1, Greg Gresham and Tim Lunn split Walls, putting him back to third.
  • Caution, Lap 2- Robert Whitley and Mike Penrod crash on the backstretch. Penrod's car gets up in the air and comes to a rest on Whitley's tires. Neither car appears to have serious damage.
  • Caution, Lap 8- Ryan Reed's car grinds to a stop along the wall in turn 3.
  • Lap 9- Ricky McIllwain gets around Gresham for the lead coming out of turn 4.
  • Caution, Lap 10- Gresham gets back to the gas too hard and loops his car coming off turn 4.
  • Caution, Lap 12- Gresham gets into Walls in turn 3. Gresham is sent to the back of the back.
  • Following the final restart, McIllwain goes uncontested for the victory.

Fairgrounds Speedway Race Results

Late Models:
  • Pole sitter Daniel Pope is slow to start and gets turned around by teammate Chevy White. Pope's car makes heavy contact with the inside wall. The race will be restarted with the inside lane moving up, making White the new pole sitter.
  • Pope's night appears to over as he climbs out of the car with a busted radiator.
  • On the restart, White pulls out to a lead over Travis Trotter and Steadman Marlin.
  • Lap 5- Charging from the rear of the field, Mark Day passes Marlin for third.
  • Caution, Lap 6- Ed McClain spins and hits the wall coming off of turn 4. McClain's car suffers extensive damage.
  • Day gets around Trotter on the restart; however, officials didn't like the way the cars were lined up, so the start was waived off.
  • Lap 16- Day gets around Trotter on the outside going into turn 1. Day now runs second.
  • Caution, Lap 26- Joseph Meyer spins by himself coming out of turn 4. He make no contact and is able to continue.
  • Caution, Lap 28- Day's car drifts high and comes to a stop exiting turn 2. His car is pushed to the pits, and then back to his hauler.
  • On the restart, Trotter is able to get alongside White for the lead. However, White is able to withstand the challenge and pulls away.
  • White pulls away from Trotter in the closing lpas and captures his first victory of the season.

Supertrucks:
  • Bobby Buttrey takes the lead after a wheel to wheel battle with pole sitter Rob Sanders.
  • Lap 3- Daniel Bolden gets around Sanders for second.
  • Lap 6- Sanders is able to get back around Bolden.
  • Caution, Lap 22- Terry Hayes blows an engine and oils down the backstretch. Stacey Crain gets into the oil and spins but makes no contact.
  • Under the caution, Bolden pits from third place to make a chassis adjustment.
  • Lap 23- Buttrey loses power down the backstretch. Sanders retakes the lead.
  • Buttrey's night is over as he has climbed out of his crippled machine.
  • Lap 29- Tommy Climer gets around Sanders to take the lead.
  • Caution, Lap 31- Stacey Crain spins in turn 4. He is unable to get his truck refired.
  • Climber is able to hold off Sanders to take his second victory of the night.

Perimeter Late Models (Exhibition race)
  • Bobby Terry jumps to a large lead at the end of the first lap.
  • Caution, Lap 4- Matt Murray spins coming off turn 4.
  • Terry cruises to an easy victory.

Open Wheel:
  • Tommy Climer leads from the pole.
  • Climer leads every lap en route to victory in the caution-free race

Thunderstox:
  • Bobby Joe Rippey comes from deep in the field to lead after lap 1. However, officials didn't like the way the cars came around and waived off the start. As cars checked up, Charles Goddard Jr., Stephanie Barnes, and CJ Adams made heavy contact.
  • After a much cleaner start, Jeremy Neuman pulls out to the lead.
  • Lap 6- Rippey passes Neuman for the lead. Mitchell Vickers follows him into second.
  • Lap 16- Neuman gets back around Vickers for second.
  • Lap 19- Vickers gets back around Neuman.
  • Lap 20- Neuman repasses Vickers.
  • Caution, Lap 21- Willy Coats spins in turn 1.
  • Caution, Lap 23- Stephanie Barnes spins coming out of turn 4 and hits the inside wall.
  • On the final restart, Goddard jumps the start and is disqualified form his 4th place finishing position.
  • Rippey goes uncontested for the victory.

  • Charles Goddard moves to the lead from the 3rd starting position at the end of lap 1.

  • Toby Tobitt jumps to an early lead from the pole.
  • Caution, Lap 16- Aaron Ashcroft blows an engine and spins in turn 2, He is then collected by Kevin Fiugeroa.
  • Caution, Lap 16- Fiugeroa spins in turn 1. The first and second place of Tobitt and Billy Schaffer cars made contact and spun after the caution, but will return to their positions as the field was already frozen.
  • Tobitt holds off a late charge from Schaffer to take the win.
