Fairgrounds Speedway Race Results

Late Models:
  • Pole sitter Daniel Pope is slow to start and gets turned around by teammate Chevy White. Pope's car makes heavy contact with the inside wall. The race will be restarted with the inside lane moving up, making White the new pole sitter.
  • Pope's night appears to over as he climbs out of the car with a busted radiator.
  • On the restart, White pulls out to a lead over Travis Trotter and Steadman Marlin.
  • Lap 5- Charging from the rear of the field, Mark Day passes Marlin for third.
  • Caution, Lap 6- Ed McClain spins and hits the wall coming off of turn 4. McClain's car suffers extensive damage.
  • Day gets around Trotter on the restart; however, officials didn't like the way the cars were lined up, so the start was waived off.
  • Lap 16- Day gets around Trotter on the outside going into turn 1. Day now runs second.
  • Caution, Lap 26- Joseph Meyer spins by himself coming out of turn 4. He make no contact and is able to continue.
  • Caution, Lap 28- Day's car drifts high and comes to a stop exiting turn 2. His car is pushed to the pits, and then back to his hauler.
  • On the restart, Trotter is able to get alongside White for the lead. However, White is able to withstand the challenge and pulls away.
  • White pulls away from Trotter in the closing lpas and captures his first victory of the season.

Supertrucks:
  • Bobby Buttrey takes the lead after a wheel to wheel battle with pole sitter Rob Sanders.
  • Lap 3- Daniel Bolden gets around Sanders for second.
  • Lap 6- Sanders is able to get back around Bolden.
  • Caution, Lap 22- Terry Hayes blows an engine and oils down the backstretch. Stacey Crain gets into the oil and spins but makes no contact.
  • Under the caution, Bolden pits from third place to make a chassis adjustment.
  • Lap 23- Buttrey loses power down the backstretch. Sanders retakes the lead.
  • Buttrey's night is over as he has climbed out of his crippled machine.
  • Lap 29- Tommy Climer gets around Sanders to take the lead.
  • Caution, Lap 31- Stacey Crain spins in turn 4. He is unable to get his truck refired.
  • Climber is able to hold off Sanders to take his second victory of the night.

5. Stacey Crain


Perimeter Late Models (Exhibition race)
  • Bobby Terry jumps to a large lead at the end of the first lap.
  • Caution, Lap 4- Matt Murray spins coming off turn 4.
  • Terry cruises to an easy victory.
Final Results:
1. Bobby Terry
2. Bret Miles
3. Matt Murray
4. Lee Graham


Open Wheel:
  • Tommy Climer leads from the pole.
  • Climer leads every lap en route to victory in the caution-free race
Final Results:
1. Tommy Climer
2. Sam McCord
3. John Earheart
4. Mark Stegall
5. David Brown


Thunderstox:
  • Bobby Joe Rippey comes from deep in the field to lead after lap 1. However, officials didn't like the way the cars came around and waived off the start. As cars checked up, Charles Goddard Jr., Stephanie Barnes, and CJ Adams made heavy contact.
  • After a much cleaner start, Jeremy Neuman pulls out to the lead.
  • Lap 6- Rippey passes Neuman for the lead. Mitchell Vickers follows him into second.
  • Lap 16- Neuman gets back around Vickers for second.
  • Lap 19- Vickers gets back around Neuman.
  • Lap 20- Neuman repasses Vickers.
  • Caution, Lap 21- Willy Coats spins in turn 1.
  • Caution, Lap 23- Stephanie Barnes spins coming out of turn 4 and hits the inside wall.
  • On the final restart, Goddard jumps the start and is disqualified form his 4th place finishing position.
  • Rippey goes uncontested for the victory.

3. Mitchell Vickers
4. Travis Ryman
5. CJ Adams


Super Stocks:
  • Charles Goddard moves to the lead from the 3rd starting position at the end of lap 1.
  • Caution, Lap 3- Danny Johnson spins by himself in turn 2.
  • Lap 13- Robert Forsythe passes Goddard for the lead.
  • Forsythe wins the race driving away.
Final Results:
1. Robert Forsythe
2. Charles Goddard
3. Cory Jones
4. Jay Pryor
5. Clint Ivey


Frontrunners:
  • Toby Tobitt jumps to an early lead from the pole.
  • Caution, Lap 16- Aaron Ashcroft blows an engine and spins in turn 2, He is then collected by Kevin Fiugeroa.
  • Caution, Lap 16- Fiugeroa spins in turn 1. The first and second place of Tobitt and Billy Schaffer cars made contact and spun after the caution, but will return to their positions as the field was already frozen.
  • Tobitt holds off a late charge from Schaffer to take the win.
Final Results:

4. Joe Bland
5. Caleb Williams


Dwarf Cars:
  • Tim Lunn gets the jump on the start and leads.
  • Lap 5- Ricky McIllwain passes Lunn for the lead. Greg Gresham runs 3rd.
  • Lap 15- Gresham gets around Lunn for second.
  • McIllwain goes uncontested for the victory.
Final Results:
1. Ricky McIllwain
2. Greg Gresham
3. Tim Lunn
4. David Ring
5. Mark Cole

  1. Thanks for all the updates! Looks like the limited late models won't be getting another race this year??? Glad to see Tommy Climer back out there in his truck and getting a couple wins on the night. Low car count on the trucks what's the deal? What happened to Blake Carter? Thought he was putting it together after not seeing him for a while. It's good to see the track favorites Day and Buttrey struggle. Makes it more interesting and fun to watch! See ya next sat.
