- Billy Melvin grabs the lead from the outside pole.
- Lap 2- Mark Day grabs the lead.
- Caution, Lap 11- Melvin blows an engine coming down the backstretch.
- Red Flag, Lap 13- Jeff Letson suffers a suspension failure and crashes hard in turn 2. His car catches fire as it slides to a stop along the backstretch. Letson is able to escape his car uninjured.
- Day cruises to an easy victory.
